Negatywny efekt wegetarianizmu na masę mięśniową W "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition" przedstawiono wyniki badań wpływu diety i treningu na mężczyzn powyżej 50 roku życia. Porównano grupę wysztkożerną i laktoowowegetarian. Przy regularnym treningu masa mięśniowa zwiększyła się u wszystkożerców natomiast u wegetarian spadła(!). "With RT, whole-body density, fat-free mass, and whole-body muscle mass increased in the mixed diet group but decreased in the LOV diet group" (LOV=lactoovovegetarian) Trzeba pamiętać, że badano ludzi po 50 roku życia. Nie stosowano suplementacji. Przy stosowaniu odżywek, kreatyny można osiągnąć bardzo dobre przyrosty nawet na diecie wegańskiej. Zaświadczą o tym weganie kulturyści :]

Co do słowa "szczytowe", to wydaje mi się jak najbardziej na miejscu - analogicznie do wielu takich "szczytowych" określeń medycznych...
